You’ll have the chance to admire the famous Othman Quran, one of the oldest copies in the world, stroll through the bustling Chorsu Market and take a ride on the metro, renowned for its beautifully decorated stations. After enjoying a traditional Uzbek dish of plov for lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll follow your guide to explore Tashkent’s modern city centre. There, you’ll admire Amir Timur Square (Tashkent’s Broadway) and Independence Square. An evening walk through Tashkent City Park can be arranged for those who are interested. The big day has arrived! After a hearty breakfast, make your way to the starting line. The race start time will vary depending on the distance you’ve chosen to run. You’ll start the day with a scenic train ride to Samarkand where you will discover the city’s many wonders. Your visit begins at Registan Square, a stunning complex of three majestic madrasas adorned with turquoise tiles and intricate mosaics. Next, you’ll head to the impressive Bibi-Khanum Mosque built in the 15th century and take a stroll in the vibrant Siyob Market. This is the perfect place to pick up spices, dried fruits and souvenirs. Your day in Samarkand will end with a magnificent sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Today, you’ll continue exploring Samarkand. You’ll start with a visit of the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, one of the city’s most stunning monuments. Next, you’ll head to the Ulugh Beg Observatory, a testament to 15th-century scientific progress. Your day will conclude with a visit to the Guri Amir Mausoleum, the final resting place of Amir Timur (Tamerlane). There, you’ll admire the exquisite architecture sublimated by the stunning turquoise dome. You will take the train back to Tashkent late afternoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.
